Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active California Special Education Teaching Credential with Moderate to Severe Authorization (or eligible for one)
  • Previous experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities, preferably in a middle school setting
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the diverse needs of middle school students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal guidelines
  • Collect data and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among students, parents, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school initiatives to enhance student outcomes
