Position Overview:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Avery, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment, supporting middle school students with moderate to severe disabilities through specialized instruction and individualized educational programming.

Monday – Friday

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications
Local Pay Rate: $90–$95/hour
Travel Pay Rate: $96+/hour

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction within a Special Day Class (SDC) setting for students with moderate to severe disabilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Assess student progress and maintain accurate educational records and documentation
Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success
Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to address diverse student needs
Create and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based collaborations
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
Active California Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Credential required or candidates with a pending California ESN credential will be considered
Previous experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
