OSP Passive Optical Engineer (OTDR Testing / Fiber Audits)

Title: Passive Optical Engineer (ODF / FAP Audits, OTDR Testing)
Location: Colorado (On-Site / On the Field)
Pay Rate: $40/hr

Contract: 2-year contract (likely extension)

Overview

We’re seeking a Passive Optical Engineer to support field-based passive fiber work including auditing Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs) and Fiber Access Points (FAPs), performing OTDR testing on spare fibers, and recording/updating results for planning and documentation purposes.

Responsibilities

• Audit and validate passive optical infrastructure including ODFs, FAPs, and related components
• Perform OTDR testing on spare fibers and document results accurately
• Record findings and update test results in the appropriate planner/documentation tools
• Maintain organized, traceable records of audits and test outputs
• Coordinate updates to ensure planning data reflects current field conditions

Qualifications

• Experience working with passive fiber infrastructure (including ODFs, FAPs, and fiber distribution environments)
• Hands-on capability performing OTDR testing and interpreting results
• Strong documentation discipline: ability to record, track, and update results consistently
• Comfortable working on-site in Colorado for the duration of the engagement
