An established New York-based firm is seeking a Healthcare Attorney to join its healthcare practice group in a hybrid work arrangement. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys hands-on litigation, managing meaningful matters from start to finish, and advocating for healthcare providers in payment, guardianship, and administrative proceedings.
This Attorney will play a key role in healthcare litigation, payment recovery, guardianship matters, nursing home discharge hearings, estate proceedings, and administrative appeals, working closely with providers to ensure continuity of payment while navigating New York's complex procedural and regulatory landscape.
In Return, We Offer:
- Salary range: $180,000-$200,000, contingent on experience
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- 401(k)
- Paid time off and paid holidays
Who You Are:
- Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York and have solid litigation experience with familiarity with the New York Civil Practice Law and Rules.
- Experience handling matters on the plaintiff's side is strongly preferred
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a large caseload and balancing competing deadlines
- Prior experience with guardianship filings and proceedings, Surrogate's Court matters, and collection work is preferred
- Familiarity with federal and New York debt collection laws is desirable
- Experience with New York Medicaid rules, regulations, and administrative procedures related to long-term care coverage is highly valued
What You Will Be Doing?
The Attorney will manage a high-volume caseload on behalf of healthcare providers to ensure continuity of payment. Responsibilities include negotiating and resolving private pay matters, initiating litigation against individuals for non payment when appropriate, and handling guardianship matters from initiation through hearing and resolution. The role includes conducting nursing home discharge hearings, initiating estate proceedings in Surrogate's Court, and appealing denials of benefits from Medicaid, managed care plans, and insurers. The Attorney will also collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective litigation strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare and procedural laws.
