Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Waverly, VA

Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role begins August 3, 2026, and extends through May 21, 2027, serving learners in a stimulating educational environment. You’ll collaborate with dedicated staff and families to empower students in developing essential communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Active SLP-CCC certification
• Valid state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Experience or strong interest in working with K-12 student populations
• Ability to travel between 1-3 nearby school sites as assigned
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct speech-language therapy to K-12 students onsite
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct assessments, write reports, and track student progress
• Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families
• Participate in IEP and staff meetings as required
• Utilize evidence-based intervention strategies to enhance student success
