Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with the leading medical research center in the world. We are seeking a Clinical Biorepository Technician to work on-site in support of the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, MD. Role involves on-site work at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
This is a long-term contract position which offers:

KEY TASKS
(1) Work with Clinical Core Unit to implement storage and distribution of biological samples including blood, urine, tissue and saliva in the biorepository for future scientific research
(2) Receive, log, barcode, and aliquot specimens with appropriate speed and accuracy
(3) Perform PBMCs procedure from human blood on various studies
(4) Assign a unique lab sequence number to each specimen according to protocols; assess each specimen for condition, quantity, and appearance
(5) Coordinate repository projects and inform management of status updates regarding re-inventory project
(6) Create monthly reports with repository updates and sample details
(7) Operate and maintain a variety of routine and specialized clinical laboratory instruments and equipment in the collection, processing, description and analysis of specimens according to manufacturer guidelines and departmental procedures
(8) Monitor and inventory routine laboratory supplies; ensure that supplies are stocked and organized
(9) Coordinate with other laboratories for receiving and shipping specimens and reports
(10) Comply with laboratory SOPs, regulatory and safety guidelines and environmental policies and procedures; adhere to SOP and CAP regulations for data input in laboratory information systems, storage and retrieval for information
KEY REQUIREMENTS
(1) Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
(2) Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, biorepository, or specimen processing environment
(3) Familiarity with specimen handling, processing, and storage techniques (blood, urine, tissue, saliva, etc.)
(4) Experience performing PBMC isolation or similar cell processing techniques is highly desirable
(5) Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and sample tracking software
(6) Strong knowledge of laboratory SOPs, CAP regulations, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, OSHA)
(7) Ability to work on-site at NIA at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD
