Bring your passion for communication access and make a meaningful impact in educational environments! A full-time opportunity awaits dedicated Sign Language Interpreters—or those skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) with relevant paraeducator experience—to support student learning and inclusion onsite throughout the upcoming school year. You’ll facilitate understanding and engagement among deaf and hard of hearing students, their teachers, and peers in dynamic elementary and intermediate school settings.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or attainment of a 4.0+ on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment
  • Candidates with EIPA under 4.0 are welcome (will be referred to as ASL Para)
  • Proficient in both voice to sign and sign to voice interpreting
  • Experience working with students in academic and/or life skills settings preferred
  • Ability to collaborate professionally and maintain student confidentiality
  • Adaptability to both academic and community environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct interpreting services in classroom, outdoor, and community activities
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff
  • Support students academically in subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Encourage independence in vocational and daily living skills as needed
  • Monitor and foster inclusivity in all student environments

This contract position offers approximately 30 hours per week onsite, with flexible school placement between elementary and intermediate grade levels based on your preference. The assignment begins ASAP and covers the entirety of the 26-27 school year, giving you the chance to build rewarding, ongoing relationships with students and colleagues.

Step into a role where your communication expertise transforms educational experiences! Submit your application today to be considered for one of several available positions—your skills will help make a difference in every classroom.

Compensation for this position ranges from $29.69 to $49.69. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
