Pharmacist in Belmont, MA

A healthcare facility specializing in home infusion is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy support for patients requiring IV and infusion therapies. This role offers the opportunity to work on-site in Cambridge, MA, supporting a range of acute and chronic medical needs with flexible, part-time scheduling.

Responsibilities:• Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards• Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies• Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in adherence to federal and state regulations• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers• Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed

Schedule/Hours:• Initial 4-8 days of training on the EMR system• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling plus ongoing PRN coverage as needed• Typical shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on-site

Qualifications:• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred• Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding required• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
