Wildfire Operations Specialist

Salary: $50/hr.

Express Employment is seeking a wildfire operations specialist for a utility company. Job duties include:

• Confirm fire location
• Travel to fire incident and communicate with Incident Commander
• Monitor fire movement, intensity, and potential spread patterns using fire behavior indicators
• Identify nearest utility infrastructure and evaluate potential fire impact
• Observe fire weather and records wind speed, direction, humidity, and temperature
• Attend operational briefings and co-operator meetings
• Identify operational plans that impact infrastructure
• Coordinate with company personnel throughout incident

Requirements:

• Experienced background in wildland fire operations
• Possess NWCG qualification of Engine Boss and/or Crew Boss
• Understand and articulate fire behavior projection in different fuels, topography, and weather
• Clear and timely ability to write reports and conduct administrative duties
• Work independently and in teams and maintain good working relationships
• Possess NWCG qualification of Task Force Leader (TFLD) or Incident Commander Type 3 (ICT3) or Division Group Supervisor (DIVS) is a plus

Other Details:

• Position starts immediately and is estimated to end 06/15/2026
• Position will include on call requirements and travel
• Pay rate is $50/hr. plus expense reimbursement for travel requirements
