Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator
Job Description
This role leads the growth of a full-service and retail electrical construction portfolio by estimating, bidding, and winning new projects while building and managing multiple electrical crews. The Project Manager / Estimator starts in a remote capacity and gradually transitions into a more hands-on, on-site leadership role focused on hiring, training, and overseeing field operations. The position combines project estimation, construction management, and business development to support the company’s expansion into new markets.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects using estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, incorporating findings from on-site tours and field assessments.
- Lead the bidding process by developing accurate proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns that align with project specifications and client expectations.
- Identify, pursue, and win retail and commercial construction opportunities to expand the company’s presence in multiple markets.
- Coordinate and manage multiple full-service and retail electrical crews, ensuring effective scheduling, resource allocation, and project planning.
- Oversee preconstruction activities, including reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor costs, and implement strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Provide on-site management and training for 2–3 full-service electrical crews, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and company standards.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure clear communication regarding project timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
- Support the hiring and development of service crews as the business grows, contributing to the expansion of the company’s service and retail electrical operations.
- Transition from remote work to increased on-site involvement over time, taking a hands-on role in field operations and crew leadership.
Essential Skills
- Proven project estimating experience in construction, including the use of Bluebeam and participation in on-site tours for accurate scoping.
- construction management and project management within commercial and retail construction environments.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Experience in construction estimating and preconstruction planning, including budgeting, cost estimating, and proposal development.
- Track record of coordinating and managing crews, including planning work, assigning tasks, and overseeing execution.
- Experience in retail construction and business development across multiple markets.
- On-site management and training experience with full-service electrical crews.
- Proficiency with estimating software and related construction management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience leading 2–3 full-service electrical crews in a commercial or retail construction setting.

Work Environment
The role begins in a hybrid arrangement, with the first few months primarily remote while focusing on estimating, bidding, and project coordination. As projects progress and service crews are established, the position transitions to more on-site work, including direct management and development of electrical crews within approximately six months. The work involves regular use of construction and estimating software such as Bluebeam, review of blueprints and project documents, and coordination with field personnel on active job sites. The environment blends office-based planning and analysis with hands-on field leadership in commercial and retail construction settings.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
