Nurse Practitioner

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: New graduates considered (specific locations only)

Millinocket, Brownville, Patten, Houlton, Ashland - Maine

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (4-day workweek negotiable)

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive healthcare and emergency treatment to patients, including health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management of health conditions. The role also involves coordinating care with primary care providers and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care within established protocols, policies, and scope of practice.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient health records.

  • Interpret health data, identify risk factors, and provide preventive and wellness care.

  • Diagnose and treat common diseases and health conditions.

  • Counsel patients and families on healthcare issues and treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and refer patients as needed.

  • Participate in care team meetings, daily huddles, and pre-visit planning.

  • Support integrated care initiatives and engage in ongoing education and training.

  • Adhere to all organizational policies, safety standards, and compliance programs.

  • Report incidents promptly and complete required documentation.

  • Represent the organization in community outreach activities when needed.

  • Maintain professionalism, teamwork, punctuality, and attendance standards.

  • Travel between multiple clinic locations as required.

Additional Details:

  • On-call: Telephone call coverage one week at a time, approximately once every two months

  • Setting: Outpatient

  • Patient Volume: Approximately 18 patients per 8-hour day

  • Patient Population: All ages

  • Start Timeline: 6-8 weeks (credentialing required)

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

  • Graduation from an NLN-accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN preferred).

  • Certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maine.

  • Current CPR and ACLS certification (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Strong communication, analytical, and observational skills.

  • High attention to detail and timely documentation practices.

  • Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements.

  • Clean criminal and DHHS background check.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between clinic locations.
