Technical Account Specialist

As a Technical Account Specialist, you will act as the key connection between customer requirements and production capabilities, ensuring custom projects are quoted, planned, and executed accurately and efficiently. This role combines technical expertise, customer communication, and cost analysis to support profitable manufacturing operations and long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and lead times using Epicor ERP, Excel modeling, and production data.
  • Review blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications to determine material, labor, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed quotes, shop orders, and production documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and plant leadership to align labor, materials, scheduling, and machine capacity.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding technical questions, project updates, and order requirements.
  • Support business development efforts by maintaining customer relationships, attending industry events, and identifying new sales opportunities.
  • Conduct post-production reviews to improve quoting accuracy, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating, production flow, and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred.
  • Experience within steel manufacturing, metal fabrication, or related industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in pricing, materials, and technical requirements.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
