Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description

This role focuses on handling, disassembling, and preparing electronic equipment and materials for shipment in a busy warehouse environment that supports environmental equipment and material distribution. You will work with a variety of electronic devices and batteries, ensuring they are properly sorted, scanned, and packaged for recycling and outbound shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble a wide range of electronic devices, including TV and computer screens and other electronic systems, following established procedures.
  • Sort batteries and electronic components into designated locations based on type, condition, or recycling requirements.
  • Scan batteries and electronic devices using RF scanners or similar equipment to track inventory and document materials for recycling and shipment.
  • Package disassembled parts, batteries, and electronics securely and accurately for outbound shipments.
  • Perform material handling tasks such as picking, moving, and staging materials and products throughout the warehouse.
  • Support inventory control by scanning, counting, and organizing materials to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Carry out general labor duties in the warehouse, including lifting, moving, and organizing heavy items as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while working with electronic devices, batteries, and warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 months of warehouse experience.
  • Experience with material handling in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and general labor tasks safely.
  • Basic familiarity with inventory processes such as picking, scanning, and sorting.
  • Comfort working with RF scanners or similar scanning devices.
  • Ability to disassemble or assemble products using basic tools and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail when sorting, scanning, and packaging materials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Assembly or disassembly experience preferred.
  • Warehouse scanning experience preferred.
  • Experience working with batteries and electronic devices is an asset.
  • Previous experience in packaging, packing, or shipping roles is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
