Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

As a Forklift Operator, you will primarily operate sit-down propane forklifts within our warehouse. In the receiving department, these forklifts are narrower than standard models, with tanks positioned upright. The racking is also narrower, requiring precise maneuvering, so prior experience operating forklifts is essential. You will spend most of your day on a forklift, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Additionally, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure materials are appropriately labeled and stored in the warehouse.
• Stage loads for trucks scheduled for the next morning.
• Communicate daily with the shipping team and management to stay updated on upcoming trucks and priorities.
• Understand and follow shipping/receiving procedures.
• Produce accurate and legible paperwork.
• Communicate with leadership throughout the shift to understand production plans.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of the finished goods warehouse, including identification and resolution of discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness in the shipping/receiving area.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating forklifts, especially in tight spaces.
• Material handling expertise.
• Proficiency with RF scanners.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift and pallet jack.
• Experience in shipping and receiving.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Prairie, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
