Job Description:
We are seeking a locum Pathologist to join a robust laboratory practice. The position requires the ability to gross specimens and work collaboratively with a team of two other pathologists, three histotechs, two tech assistants, and two cytotechnologists.
The typical workload includes approximately 200-250 slides daily, divided among three pathologists, with each handling roughly 30-50 surgical cases and 10 cytology cases per day. Case types include surgical nephrology, general pathology, GI, breast, hematology (minimal), gynecological/non-gynecological, and very limited neuro cases (no neuro, peds, or autopsies). All hematopathology, including bone marrow, is processed through integrated oncology services.
This role involves grossing, FNA procedures, and rapid interpretation. Pathologists can expect about 3-4 hours of grossing every third day with a 3-day rotation schedule:

• Day 1: Grossing (40-50 cases), Frozen Sections (1-4 per week), Call (4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. next morning)
• Day 2: Readout and ordering IHC/Special Stains
• Day 3: Cytology support, including bronch suite and case readouts

Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00
