Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Travel Contract)
Location: Oregon City, OR 97045
Schedule: Night Shift | 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 07/06/2026
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery for a 13-week travel assignment in Oregon City, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing laboring patients, postpartum care, newborn assessments, fetal monitoring, and obstetrical emergencies while delivering compassionate patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status utilizing external and internal fetal monitoring techniques.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and cesarean sections.
- Recover and monitor post-cesarean section patients.
- Perform sterile vaginal examinations and obstetrical triage assessments.
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, prostaglandins, and terbutaline.
- Support neonatal resuscitation and newborn stabilization when required.
- Conduct newborn assessments, discharge education, breastfeeding support, and family education.
- Respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies including hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, and fetal distress.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in Epic EMR.
SKILLS:
- Experience with the Epic charting system.
- Experience circulating C-sections and caring for postpartum and newborn patients.
- Strong fetal monitoring experience.
- Ability to float within unit needs and affiliated facilities as required.
- Must have reliable transportation/vehicle for assignment.
- Active RN License (Oregon license required prior to start; pending license accepted at submission).
- Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery nursing experience.
- AHA - BLS
Current NRP certification.
- AWHONN Advanced Certification.
- STABLE Certification.
- Community hospital experience.
- Antepartum and high-risk obstetrical experience.
- LDRP experience.
- Level I Nursery experience.
