Academic Gastroenterology Hospitalist

Our organization is looking for a full-time Academic Gastroenterology Hospitalist to enhance our growing inpatient gastroenterology team. This role is tailored for healthcare professionals who are passionate about inpatient digestive disorders, committed to clinical excellence, and eager to engage in medical education within a vibrant academic setting. The Gastroenterology Hospitalist will deliver thorough inpatient consultative and procedural care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. This position prioritizes high-quality, efficient, and collaborative care alongside hospital medicine, surgery, oncology, and critical care teams.

• Deliver inpatient gastroenterology consultation services, focusing on the assessment and management of acute gastrointestinal issues.

• Conduct endoscopic procedures (such as EGD, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy) within the inpatient environment.

• Mentor and instruct fellows, residents, and medical students during their inpatient rotations.

• Engage in quality improvement and clinical operations projects within the inpatient gastroenterology service.

• Optional involvement in clinical research, medical education initiatives, or implementation science projects.

• Two weeks of inpatient coverage per month, with a flexible schedule for the remaining two weeks.

• Shared call coverage among gastroenterology faculty members.
