Permanent Opportunity | Physician | Neonatology Neonatal-Perinatal | Spartanburg, SC
Position Type: Permanent
Specialty: Physician - Neonatology

Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: Rotating schedule with one week of 24/7 NICU inpatient service coverage followed by one week off-service
Position Details:
Patient Population: Neonatal patients requiring Level III NICU care
Setting: 35-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a regional referral center
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide comprehensive neonatal care
- Manage high-acuity neonatal patients with an average daily census of 25–29 infants
- Deliver advanced neonatal interventions including high-frequency ventilation and therapeutic hypothermia
- Participate in well-baby rounding in collaboration with the Family Medicine Residency Program
- Collaborate with Neonatologists, NNPs, and pediatric subspecialists
- Provide family-centered neonatal care in a multidisciplinary environment
Required Procedures:
- Neonatal critical care management
- High-frequency ventilation
- Therapeutic hypothermia
Support Staff: 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coverage, Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine support
Days Per Month: Full-Time
On-Call/Weekends: Every other night call during service weeks; rotating weekend coverage required
Submission Requirements:
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Completion of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Training
- South Carolina Medical License or willingness to obtain
- Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days)
- DEA required prior to start date
- Clean malpractice and license history preferred
- Neonatology experience required
- Must specify visa sponsorship requirement status (J1/H1B); visa candidates not accepted
