Our client seeks an Operations Field Engineer to install, service, and troubleshoot access control and CCTV systems in a customer-facing field environment. The role requires proficiency with low-voltage electronics, IP video, access control hardware, and diagnostic tools to ensure reliable security system performance. The Engineer will interpret technical documentation, manage materials, and uphold safety and quality standards while supporting site work and travel as needed.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $25.00 to $28.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards with a focus on quality customer service.
- Install cabling and card readers, mount equipment, door contacts and strikes, intrusion detection, CCTV equipment, and access control systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment and software with established troubleshooting techniques to isolate equipment failures and resolve performance issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications.
- Manage and maintain proper material inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge in CCTV/IP video systems, access control platforms, intrusion systems, and low voltage electronics (5V–56V).
- Minimum one year of experience in the electronics field with commercial access control and CCTV.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl, including work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in lifts and bucket trucks.
- Ability to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Ability to work in various conditions including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to work Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with additional on-call work as required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and willingness to travel.
- Ability to maintain a satisfactory background record.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training in electronics or related field (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
