Commercial Renovation Estimator - Construction - Base Salary to 95k/year - Tallahassee, FL

• Our client is an established commercial construction and renovation contractor serving clients throughout North and Central Florida. The company specializes in renovation, rehabilitation, and improvement projects within healthcare, senior living, assisted living, adult care, commercial, and residential environments.
• They are seeking a Commercial Renovation Estimator to support preconstruction efforts by preparing accurate, competitive, and code-compliant estimates for commercial renovation projects. This position works closely with company leadership, project management, subcontractors, and clients to develop detailed project budgets and proposals from initial site evaluation through project handoff.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and complete cost estimates for commercial renovation projects
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, project scope, and construction constraints
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Solicit, review, compare, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals
• Develop detailed budgets, scopes, and client proposals
• Coordinate with project management teams to support project turnover and buyout activities
• Ensure estimates align with applicable Florida Building Codes and project requirements
• Analyze project risks, constructability concerns, and renovation challenges within occupied facilities
• Maintain pricing databases and subcontractor relationships
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during preconstruction

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Strong quantity takeoff and construction cost estimating skills
• Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Working knowledge of Florida Building Codes as they relate to commercial renovation projects
• Experience performing site assessments and developing estimates based on existing conditions
• Ability to travel for day trips to project sites as needed
• Experience estimating renovation, rehabilitation, tenant improvement, interior build-out, or occupied facility construction projects

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 85k – 95k/year range
