HeplerBroom LLC, a large defense firm, is currently seeking a licensed Associate Attorney for our Springfield Office. This is an ideal opportunity for attorneys with an interest in gaining experience in environmental law.

Experience at HeplerBroom will include:
- Assess strategy and prepare documents for responding to environmental violations alleged by Illinois EPA and USEPA
- Participate in meetings with clients and regulators regarding environmental permitting and alleged violations
- Make court appearances and appear at hearings before the Illinois Pollution Control Board
- Research, analyze, and interpret law sources such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions
- Assist with document review
- Conduct depositions
- Write motions, and responses to discovery
- Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained; investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action
Ideal candidate will have:
- Good standing with the Illinois bar
- Strong interest and desire to learn environmental law
- Strong research skills
- Strong writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Deposition experience (preferred)
