  • Support the annual budget process by drafting and vetting potential questions and answers to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual legislative communication plans and maintain active logs of congressional engagements.
  • Conduct quarterly assessments of the impact of new or revised legislation on organizational operations and policy priorities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing training on congressional procedures and communication protocols to internal program and laboratory staff.

  • Strong understanding of the legislative process, including how to monitor bills, track congressional actions, and prepare formal briefing packages.
  • Ability to analyze budget data and programmatic impacts, connecting them to high-level policy initiatives.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
  • Capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced "quick response" environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex congressional procedures to non-experts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support congressional engagements and training sessions.

Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
