Job Description
Plumbing Foreman (Future Superintendent Track)
Location: Kansas City Metro
Compensation: $43-$47+/hour DOE + Overtime + Benefits
A growing commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Plumbing Foreman to become the right-hand leader to the company's Plumbing General Superintendent.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced commercial plumber who wants more than a traditional foreman role. The company has made a significant investment in growing its plumbing division and is looking for someone who can help build the future of the department.
While this role will remain hands-on in the field, the long-term vision is for this individual to gradually take on more leadership responsibilities, including project planning, takeoffs, coordination, and operational support. The expectation is that the right person could advance into a Superintendent role within the next few years as the division continues to grow.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support commercial plumbing crews on ground-up construction projects
- Perform and oversee underground plumbing installation
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and jobsite activities
- Work directly with the Plumbing General Superintendent to support project execution
- Assist with takeoffs, project planning, and office-related responsibilities
- Help establish standards, processes, and best practices within a growing plumbing department
- Serve as a field leader and mentor for apprentices and journeymen
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial plumbing experience
- Proven experience with ground-up construction and underground plumbing
- Journeyman-level plumbing knowledge (or equivalent field experience)
- Ability and willingness to remain hands-on when needed
- Comfortable using computers, construction software, and digital plans
- Experience with on-screen takeoff programs or similar construction technology is highly preferred
- Leadership mindset with interest in growing into a larger management role
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Direct mentorship from the leader overseeing all plumbing operations
- Clear path toward Superintendent-level responsibilities
- Opportunity to help shape and grow a rapidly expanding plumbing division
- Mix of field leadership and office involvement
- Stable backlog of commercial work
- Competitive hourly compensation with advancement potential
This role is ideal for a high-performing Foreman looking for the next step in their career—or an experienced Superintendent who enjoys staying connected to the field and wants to help build something long-term.
