Handyman / Carpenter

The Great Escape Room is looking for a Handyman/ Carpenter to join our team at our workshop in Longwood, FL. This position is a 6 month temporary position.  The position entails assisting in constructing our props for our experiences. The ideal candidate will have a sense of how to use basic tools, follow directions and possibly traveling for days at a time.  

DUTIES
-Assist our workshop crew implementing our prefabricated rooms at our locations across the country
-Repair broken parts, pieces, puzzles, props on site if damaged in transit
-Safely use hand and power tools
-Maintain clean and functional work space
-Collaborate with the team to work safely on the projects

SKILLS NEEDED:
-Basic carpentry skills including using, drills, and hand tools.
-Finished Carpentry Skills - sanding and painting/ staining
-Rough Carpentry Skills - building an interior wall
-Be able to read & understand tape measures & levels
-Must be able to follow instructions and processes
-Must be able to work as part of a team
- Ability to paint interior spaces and props with latex and spray paints is strongly preferred
-Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
-Must be reliable

This position requires you to work from our Longwood, FL workshop.  

Salary: $20 per hour

*Additional Stipulations: The Great Escape Room will pay for the travel costs and living accommodations of our crew (usually via vehicular transportation, but sometimes air travel is necessary) for the project installs.
