Ultrasound Technologist PRN

Position Overview

The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely imaging services.

Position Details

  • Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
  • Schedule: Daytime hours with evening call coverage as needed
  • Travel: None required
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently for all patient populations
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and selection of appropriate transducers for each procedure
  • Capture and submit high-quality diagnostic images to the Radiologist for interpretation
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and exam rooms in optimal working condition
  • Utilize electronic systems, including Meditech, to verify orders and document procedures
  • Manage imaging workflow through PACS, including image storage and CD creation
  • Exercise independent clinical judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Cross-train and maintain competency in sonography practices as needed
  • Assist with additional departmental tasks during periods of low patient volume

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting ARRT or equivalent standards
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
  • Certifications:
    • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) preferred
    • Current CPR certification required

  • Willingness to meet vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
