Good News Home Inc. is a nonprofit residential treatment center dedicated to helping women overcome substance abuse and co-occurring mental health challenges. We provide a safe, structured, and compassionate environment for up to 12 women, offering both short-term stabilization and long-term recovery support. Our holistic approach nurtures mind, body, and spirit, welcoming clients regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay.
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Monitor who is dependable, empathetic, and committed to supporting women on their recovery journey. This role is essential to maintaining a therapeutic living environment and ensuring continuity of care for our residents.
Job Description
As a Behavioral Health Monitor, you will be a steady, supportive presence for residents throughout your shift, helping maintain structure, safety, and engagement. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct house checks every two hours to ensure clients are participating in program activities or productive occupation
- Provide safe, reliable transportation to meetings, church services, and other required activities
- Maintain accurate daily logs and email shift reports to clinical staff
- Report client concerns promptly and complete incident reports as needed
- Administer scheduled drug tests following facility protocols
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team communication
- Deliver verbal shift handovers to incoming staff to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Support new admissions by completing intake checklists and providing orientation
- Uphold house rules and reinforce a structured, therapeutic environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience (2+ years preferred) in substance use treatment, mental health, or related human services
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to set healthy boundaries
- Comfortable working independently and using sound judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic internet navigation
- Experience driving a 12–15 passenger van is a plus, but not required
- Attend staff meetings
