Substitute Teacher Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
• Manage the classroom to encourage participation and minimize disruptions
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and playground areas
• Provide in-class and take-home assignments as outlined in lesson plans

Requirements

• At least 36 college credit hours in any subject or completion of a Missouri DESE-approved online substitute training program
• Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate
• Willingness to complete a fingerprint-based background check (contact Penmac before completing this step)
• Completion of required training provided by Penmac
