Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology unit, requiring 2 years of experience and an active TN or Compact RN license, with night shifts and every other weekend coverage.
Details
- Medical Surgical Oncology unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Night shift schedule, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to other units as needed
- Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
Requirements
- Active TN or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current AHA BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
- Contract nurses are expected to actively support nursing student clinical education alongside their regular patient care duties
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
