Mercy Clinic Spine & Pain Management is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with providers and patients managing chronic pain and spine-related conditions, helping deliver exceptional care while building meaningful patient relationships.

What You'll Do- Welcome and room patients while obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Review and update medical histories, medication lists, and patient information
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits and procedures
- Perform basic diagnostic testing and accurately document patient care
- Reinforce provider-directed patient education and care plans
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, testing, and other patient care needs
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms
- Support front-office operations and ensure a positive patient experience
- Follow all Mercy safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards
- Participate in team meetings, quality initiatives, and ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Willingness to attend Mercy's MA Clinic Academy upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- One year of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience working in a specialty clinic preferred

Work Environment- Collaborative outpatient specialty clinic
- Frequent patient interaction and direct patient care
- Active role requiring standing, walking, and use of clinical equipment throughout the day
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided as appropriate
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
- Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, gripping, and squatting
