About this job
Job Description
C2 Safety is assisting a client in their search for an experienced and reliable Residential Housekeeper & Property Caretaker. This role will be a 1099 Independent Contractor position working at multiple properties in the Western KY area - homes and office - approximately 100 miles apart. Hours are flexible, with workload requiring 3-5 days per week of work.
About the role
I am looking for a reliable, detail-oriented housekeeper and property caretaker to help care for three homes and several small offices. This is a hands-on cleaning role with added responsibility for basic property care and light coordination with vendors. I’m looking for one person I can trust long-term, not a rotating crew.
Core responsibilities
- Housekeeping and cleaning
- Thorough cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and offices (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal).
- Routine deep-clean tasks on a rotating basis (baseboards, interior windows, inside appliances, ceiling fans, etc.).
- Keeping spaces tidy and organized, including straightening common areas and storage where appropriate.
- Laundry and linens
- Washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes, towels, and linens.
- Changing bed linens and towels; light ironing or steaming as needed.
- Property care & “eyes-on” oversight
- Walking the property to notice and report issues (leaks, unusual odors, damage, pests, burned-out bulbs, etc.).
- Light exterior tidying such as sweeping entryways, porches, and picking up debris.
- Keeping track of cleaning supplies and household consumables; notifying owner when items need restocking.
- Coordination / assistant-type tasks (optional but preferred)
- Meeting repair or service vendors at properties (plumbers, HVAC, pest control, etc.) when needed.
- Letting the owner know about needed repairs and helping schedule them.
- Occasional simple errands related to the properties (picking up supplies, dropping things off, etc.), as agreed.
- Driving
- Regular travel between properties (about 100 miles apart) on a schedule agreed in advance.
- Managing your day efficiently so each property is cleaned and checked on a predictable rotation.
What this job is NOT
- No heavy handyman work or specialized trades.
- No childcare or elder care.
- No managing other staff; this is a one-person role.
Contractor requirements
- Proven experience in residential housekeeping, office cleaning, or similar roles.
- Comfortable with physical work (standing, bending, lifting up to 25–30 lbs, moving small furniture to clean behind/under).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Willing and able to drive between properties regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness and organization.
- Comfortable working independently in private homes and offices.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsive by phone/text.
- Able to pass a background check and provide at least two recent work references.
Compensation
- 1099 independent contractor role
- Hourly pay based on experience and responsibility (please include your expected hourly rate in your response).
- Drive time between properties is paid.
- Mileage or fuel reimbursement/allowance for travel between properties.
- Opportunity for stable, long-term work with one client if it’s a good mutual fit.
