Department: Quality Assurance

Summary: The role of the QA Inspector is to provide feedback on all parts that are made and to make sure they adhere to the needs of the customers

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities

• Understanding of quality requirements and quality judgement
• Ability to prepare required test reports STRG and other general parts
• Communication with production departments when nonconforming product is detected
• Process inspection
• Assist with problem solving
• Perform steering test
• Complete material nonconformance reports, appropriate inspection sheets and other quality reports
• Disposition of nonconforming product
• Identification of rejected parts

• Measurement of critical characteristics
• Inspection and quality judgements of pass through parts
• Adhere to TS16949
• Maintain conformance with company policies and procedures
• Assist with new associate training
• Any additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Highschool, GED, or equivalent experience
• Ability to distinguish between color grades
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organization and problem solving skills

Environment: Plant associates are exposed to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, solvents, electrical energy, toxic materials, hazardous chemicals and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in confined spaces; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces.

Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting; standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and operating motorized equipment.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate equipment.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
