Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant – Emergency Department (Float Pool)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Type: Contract / Travel Opportunity
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 6 x 12-Hour Shifts Every Two Weeks | Every Other Weekend Required
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Emergency Department Float Pool for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Obtain and record vital signs accurately and report changes in patient condition
- Serve as a safety companion/sitter for patients requiring continuous observation
- Support nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient information effectively
- Respond appropriately to changing patient needs and emergency situations
- Promote patient comfort, dignity, and safety at all times
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum one (1) year of patient care experience required
- Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience providing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) preferred
- Experience serving as a safety companion/sitter for high-risk patients highly preferred
- Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred
- Experience caring for diverse patient populations preferred
- Strong observation, documentation, and patient advocacy skills
