Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Emergency Department

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 14-Week Contract

Schedule: Night Shift – 3x12-Hour Shifts

  • 6 twelve-hour shifts per two-week pay period
  • Average of 36 hours per week

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Weekly

Compensation: $1,100 – $1,250 Weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care within a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. The ideal candidate will provide direct and indirect patient care, assist nursing staff with daily patient needs, and contribute to a safe, compassionate, and efficient care environment. Experience in a high-acuity trauma setting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Obtain and document vital signs accurately and report abnormal findings promptly.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and transportation throughout the department.
  • Serve as a patient safety attendant when assigned.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Support emergency department workflow and patient throughput initiatives.
  • Assist with stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized patient care environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
Required QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active New York State CNA Certification required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care experience required.
  • Prior Level I Trauma Center experience required.
  • Emergency Department experience preferred.
  • Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced healthcare environments preferred.
