Core Java backend role in financial services. API, multithreading, CI/CD (Jenkins, Ansible), Unix, testing, Agile pods. 5+ yrs exp. Chicago onsite 2 days/week. W2 or direct hire

Job Description:
Location: Chicago, IL (2 days onsite – Mon & Tue)
Employment Type: W2 Contractor
Experience Required: Minimum 5+ years

Key Responsibilities:

• Core back-end Java development (no UI focus)

• Work in financial services domain (banks, trading firms, etc.)

• Develop API-based applications using Core Java

• Work in product-oriented delivery model with cross-functional pods

• Participate in Agile 2-week sprint cycles

• Contribute to design discussions and implementation decisions

Required Skills:

• Strong Core Java development experience

• Financial services domain experience required

• API development experience

• Multithreading experience

• Unit testing experience

• Understanding of automation frameworks

• Unix experience (plus)

• Cucumber or similar automation tools experience

• Jenkins experience

• Ansible / CI-CD tools experience

• Strong independent contributor mindset
