Pathologists' Assistant (PA) – Travel Contract | Los Angeles, CA
Prime Staffing is seeking an experienced Pathologists' Assistant (PA) for a 52-week contract assignment with a prestigious healthcare facility in Los Angeles, California.
Assignment Details
- Specialty: Pathologists' Assistant
- Schedule: Day Shift, 5x8s
- Shift Hours: Typically between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility up to 8:30 PM as needed)
- Contract Length: 52 Weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
- Describe, photograph, and process specimens according to departmental protocols.
- Assist pathologists with frozen section procedures.
- Ensure accurate specimen documentation and quality control.
- Support Anatomic Pathology operations and laboratory workflow.
- Maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Pathologists' Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
- PA(ASCP) certification preferred or eligible to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- Strong surgical pathology and specimen grossing experience.
