Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive nursing care for residents across the lifespan in a long-term care setting
• Lead and supervise CNAs, LPNs, and support staff while ensuring safe, high-quality care
• Develop individualized, goal-oriented care plans based on scientific principles and resident needs
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for effectiveness and safety
• Educate residents and families about conditions, procedures, and coping strategies
• Respond calmly and effectively during emergencies, making sound clinical judgments
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Alaska nursing license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATT certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of long-term care nursing experience
• Flu vaccine documentation required
• Ability to provide two fingerprint cards upon acceptance

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize care based on acuity and resident preferences
• Competence in delegation and supervision of support staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
