Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will have fabrication or machine operation experience, strong blueprint-reading abilities, and experience operating fabrication equipment in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate fabrication machinery according to specifications and work orders
- Operate CNC lasers, CNC waterjets, press brakes, rollers, punch presses, grinders, drills, saws, and related equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Record labor and inventory transactions accurately
- Utilize ERP systems to review production orders and materials
- Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2+ years of fabrication, manufacturing, or machine operation experience
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and measuring devices
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC fabrication experience
- ERP or manufacturing software experience
- Forklift and overhead crane experience
- Previous experience in a custom fabrication or job-shop environment
