Job Description
Outcome: The Machine Operator will set up and operate Horizontal pouch machines in
accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Perform mechanical
adjustments, changeovers and perform preventive maintenance in a timely
manner. When necessary, Maintenance support will be provided.
Job Expectations:
• Experience operating a horizontal form fill machine and high-speed equipment.
• Experience operating/calibrating and adjusting Mettler Toledo scale systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere
to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation
on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production
and minimal unplanned stops.
• Determine the required materials, products, and resources needed.
• Read and follow job orders.
• Inspect the machine outputs for quality control.
• Provide detailed reports and logs on the work done.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the
correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
• Housekeeping, sanitation and GMP compliance.
• Keep up with safety requirements and maintain a safe work setting.
Qualifications:
• Analytical, technical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team.
• 2 – 4 years of experience as a Machine Operator.
• Training and hands-on experience in safety techniques and requirements.
• Training and hands-on experience with specific machinery.
• Knowledge of various types of machinery operation.
• Trained to handle measurement devices and tools.
Physical Demands:
• Standing and walking entire shift.
• Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools.
• Climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching.
• Must be able to work in tight quarters and hard to reach area.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
