Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with a strong background in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise gained in a nonprofit environment and possess a proven ability to manage complex payroll operations across multiple entities and locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule for multiple sites and legal entities.
  • Perform comprehensive payroll audits to ensure compliance, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Administer employee wages, garnishments, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related adjustments.
  • Manage quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute payroll reports for leadership, finance, and regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance teams to maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
  • Support payroll system maintenance, enhancements, and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a nonprofit organization environment.
  • Extensive experience processing high-volume, multi-state payroll.
  • Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of wage administration, garnishments, deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing quarterly and annual payroll tax filings and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate and interpret payroll reports.
  • Experience processing payroll across multiple locations, business units, or legal entities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Paylocity, including payroll processing, reporting, and system administration functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
