he MRI Technologist performs high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and excellent customer service. The MRI Tech works closely with physicians, radiologists, and clinical staff to obtain diagnostic images and maintain efficient patient flow.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Verify patient identification, physician orders, and clinical history.
  • Screen patients thoroughly for MRI safety, including implants, metal exposure, and contraindications.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer contrast agents when appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide clear instructions before and during examinations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Follow all MRI safety standards, infection control policies, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Troubleshoot imaging issues and communicate concerns to radiologists and management.
  • Maintain MRI equipment and report service or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Assist with scheduling and patient flow as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification.
  • MRI certification or registry eligible.
  • Current state license (if required).
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum 1 year MRI experience preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience with GE MRI systems.
  • Experience in outpatient imaging centers.
  • Strong patient care and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation and personal injury patient populations.

  • Ability to assist patients with mobility limitations.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to work around strong magnetic fields while adhering to MRI safety guidelines.
