**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** - A graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program or meets requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or are attending their second year in an accredited Radiology program. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** - 2 years experience working in a radiology department. - High School or GED. **OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:** - Maintains CPR certification and takes continuing education classes to remain up-to-date on any changes in CPR training. - Communication: Communicates in a positive and helpful manner with hospital staff, physicians, and patients. - Must be able to operate all diagnostic radiology equipment. - Proficiency in operating equipment. - Demonstrates knowledge of proper technique and equipment functions to optimize quality of exams and produce diagnostic radiographs. - Teaches and oversees student technologists. - Ensures patient care and radiation protection is practiced at all times. - Meets continuing education requirements. Will maintain good and current working knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures by attending in-services, watching videos and reading literature and memos on instructional classes. - Special considerations in providing adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient care activities. - Knowledgeable in CPR training and certified to perform mouth-to-mouth reviving or chest compression, maintains current CPR certifications. - Uses two forms of ID to identify proper patient; Patient name and birth date. Compares ID forms on patient wrist band to paperwork (requisition). - Adheres to HIPPA rules and regulations. Keeps pertinent information confidential when possible. - Logs on to system and retrieves patient information in PACS. Ensures all procedural charges are entered into the Radiology Information System for accurate charging. - Ensures x-ray room is properly stocked for a variety of examinations when appropriate. - Must be able to lift 300-pound patients with assistance in and out of bed and manipulate them in and out of wheelchair or cart onto examination table. - Communicates changes or needs for equipment with maintenance personnel. - Must be able to climb stairs and utilize a step stool. **PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:** - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of medical equipment and support 300-pound patients with assistance. - Must have manual dexterity to operate diagnostic radiology equipment and use computers. - Must be able to walk throughout the hospital and have the physical ability to climb stairs. - Must be able to hear alarms and conversations, and use their vision for reading and equipment operation. - Must have strong mathematical skills for calculations. - Must have good memory for instructions and job requirements. - Strong language ability: reading, writing, and clear communication skills. - Strong reasoning skills to interpret and follow procedures and policies.
