Job Description
We are searching for an CADD Designer in Memphis, TN to support the design and development of electrical plans using AutoCAD and related software. This role collaborates closely with engineers and project managers to create accurate technical drawings, ensure design standards are met, and contribute to the successful execution of projects. The CADD Designer plays a key part in preparing layouts, interpreting specifications, and supporting project documentation throughout various phases of design.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree or certificate in Drafting & Design, CAD Technology
- 5 years of experience preferred, specifically with AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, and drafting standards
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn new tools and methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers and other CAD operators to complete assignments quickly and finish project deliverables while meeting schedules.
- Responsible for the set-up of discipline specific drawings at project start-up.
- Modify and create schematics from concepts and “red-lined” documents.
- Provide support for review and return of shop drawings.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Use AutoCAD for 2D drawing creation and design.
- Take responsibility for work produced to a high standard.
- Work from Engineer’s markups and sketches under minimum supervision.
- Ensure outputs meet the required standards and meet agreed deadlines
- Draft project concepts, plans, and construction documents for various electrical projects including substations, wiring diagrams, and line construction.
- Create detailed drawings and models using written and verbal specifications provided by engineers and project managers
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance and cited specifications and industry standards
- Communicate effectively with project managers and staff
- Maintain an understanding of engineering design work processes and stay updated on commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry
- Draft and revise 2D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or CAD Earth.
- Assist Engineers and project managers with design layouts, details, and documentation.
- Convert sketches, field notes, and verbal instructions into accurate technical drawings.
