📍 Rhatigan Student Center – Wichita, KS
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and motivated Facilities & Set-Up Manager to oversee event operations at the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University. This role is responsible for coordinating event setups, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily event set-up and tear-down operations based on client needs
- Supervise and support a team of Student Building Managers
- Coordinate event logistics with Event Services staff
- Manage staff scheduling, hiring support, and ongoing training
- Monitor and control building access, including opening and closing procedures
- Troubleshoot operational issues and ensure events run smoothly
- Maintain and track equipment inventory and perform basic maintenance
- Serve as part of the emergency response team, including evacuations and safety procedures
- Ensure excellent customer service for all event clients
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience in event operations, facilities, or building maintenance
- Familiarity with A/V equipment and event logistics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- High attention to detail and customer service focus
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at a computer for extended periods
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak event periods
- Work environment includes moderate to loud noise levels
