Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact in students’ educational journeys by supporting K-8 learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity, situated near Elyria, OH, provides a structured schedule, with a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week over five days. The assignment begins in August 2026 and continues through June 2027, giving educators a clear, long-term roadmap.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A current and valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (OH IS License)
- Experience or a demonstrated passion for working with K-8 students with diverse needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with parents, support staff, and general education teachers
- Ability to develop, implement, and document Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and areas of growth
- Organizational skills and adaptability to respond to students’ changing needs
Expect your day-to-day to include:
- Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Crafting engaging, differentiated lessons that meet curriculum standards and fulfill IEP goals
- Monitoring student progress, updating records, and collaborating during team meetings
