Location: Minneapolis, MN

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid Primary locations include Minnesota and Colorado (Denver). On-site attendance expected for workshops, generally Tuesday Thursday, with flexibility based on project needs.

  • Pay Rate: $75.00 $90.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Standard core business hours, Monday Friday, approximately 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Occasional work outside standard hours may be required depending on project phase.
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 25% travel expected, including some overnight stays. Reimbursement provided.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Job Summary

This is a Non-IT Business Analyst role focused on process analysis and improvement, requirements gathering and documentation, current vs. future state definition, financial/ROI analysis for business decisions, and acting as a bridge between business users and solution teams. It is less hands-on functional configuration and more process/financial analysis driven.

The contractor will provide subject matter expertise for SAP S/4HANA, specifically within the FICA module. Responsibilities include reviewing and providing recommendations on key design artifacts, technical artifacts, and business process designs; supporting configuration of billing and invoicing processes; and helping standardize and redesign processes as part of a Greenfield SAP implementation.

The day-to-day working team is fewer than 10 people. The contractor will also interact with broader internal stakeholders and external third parties such as payment providers and system integrators. The role is an individual contributor functioning within a collaborative team environment with a strong focus on teamwork. The primary work supports internal business teams, with some interaction with external third-party partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze non-IT business problems and articulate requirements to support process improvement opportunities
  • Create framework for assessing financial payback; identify alternative solutions and make recommendations
  • Prepare documentation of current and desired state
  • Develop requirements and build a common understanding between process owners and solution developers
  • Assess process performance using strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience in preparing ROI statements for proposed investments
  • Attend regular stand-up meetings and participate in workshops (on-site as required)
  • Complete follow-up work, reviews, and deliverables from workshops remotely
  • Collaborate closely with internal business counterparts and system integrators
  • Support SAP-related questions as the team progresses through implementation phases
  • Review and provide recommendations on key design artifacts, technical artifacts, and business process designs
  • Support configuration of billing and invoicing processes
  • Help standardize and redesign processes as part of a Greenfield SAP implementation
Required Skills
  • SAP S/4HANA experience (required)
  • SAP FICA module expertise (required)
  • Utility industry experience specifically Electric Utility experience (required)
  • Experience with at least two SAP implementations (Greenfield or Brownfield)
  • Billing and invoicing process configuration in SAP
  • Functional SAP Business Analyst experience
  • ISU Utilities experience
  • Deep familiarity with the configuration process in order to answer technical interview questions
  • Ability to work in a multi-vendor environment; collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing ROI statements and financial analysis for proposed investments
  • Ability to assess process performance
Preferred Skills
  • ABAP development experience (nice-to-have, not required)
  • SAP Activate or SAP FICA module certifications (preferred but not required)
  • Prior experience working both client-side and with system integrators
  • Background in financial/at-risk analysis within utility experience
Required Experience
  • Approximately 7 10 years of relevant SAP implementation experience (candidates with all preferred certifications may be considered at a more junior level)
  • At least two SAP implementations (Greenfield or Brownfield)
  • Hands-on SAP implementation experience required; candidates are expected to ramp up on client-specific processes and procedures
