Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role focuses on serving students within a Strat II: ID setting, working with a small group of 8-12 students and supporting their participation in alternate assessments. You’ll collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to create an inclusive, supportive environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Current Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility for certification)
- Professional experience with Strat II: ID populations or similar Intellectual Disabilities settings
- Strong understanding of alternate assessment processes and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Skill in creating differentiated instruction for middle school students, grades 5-8
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Committed to positive behavioral supports and classroom management
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum for 5th-8th grade students, modifying lessons to promote access and engagement through alternate assessments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and update IEPs tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs
- Foster a classroom climate focused on inclusion, safety, and respect
- Actively track and report student progress towards IEP goals, adjusting strategies as needed
- Engage families and caregivers in student success, providing regular updates and support
- Maintain accurate records, compliance with documentation, and reporting requirements as outlined by district and state standards
