We are looking for a compassionate and organized Customer Service Representative to support energy assistance programs for households in need in Wisconsin. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys guiding people through application processes, explaining services clearly, and delivering thoughtful support in a nonprofit setting. In this permanent role, you will help determine eligibility, maintain accurate records, and serve as a helpful point of contact for community members seeking assistance.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake conversations with applicants, gather required records, and assess eligibility for available energy assistance services.
• Assist individuals and families by answering questions, providing courteous service, and explaining program steps in a clear and respectful manner.
• Enter, update, and maintain client information in databases and related systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Review household and income details, using basic calculations to support eligibility determinations and program documentation.
• Work closely with partner agencies and community resources to help address client needs and improve access to support.
• Take part in outreach activities and community events to increase awareness of available assistance programs.
• Provide responsive service to diverse populations, including older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, and families with children.
• Protect sensitive information and follow established policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards in daily work.• Previous experience in customer service, call center support, or a public-facing service environment.
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and professionally.
• Comfortable handling inbound and outbound calls while providing a positive customer experience.
• Solid computer proficiency, including data entry and application or case-related record management.
• Good numerical skills and attention to detail when reviewing income and household information.
• Ability to stay organized, manage competing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• A service-driven approach with sensitivity to the needs of low-income households and vulnerable community members.
