Job Description
Driscoll Childrens Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Electrophysiologist to serve as Director of Electrophysiology within its growing Heart Center. This leadership role will guide the continued expansion of invasive electrophysiology and arrhythmia services across South Texas, supported by an experienced senior electrophysiologist. The ideal candidate will bring both clinical expertise and strategic vision to advance a comprehensive EP program within a multidisciplinary pediatric heart center.
Heart Center Overview
The Driscoll Heart Center provides comprehensive congenital cardiology care, including cardiac surgery, a dedicated 35 bed CICU, interventional cardiology, advanced imaging, fetal cardiology services, and an established electrophysiology program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand electrophysiology services, including procedural planning, workflow optimization, and quality initiatives.
- Perform invasive EP procedures, catheter ablations, and pacemaker/ICD implantation and management.
- Collaborate with Heart Center leadership on program growth, EP lab development, outreach, and clinical pathway design.
- Provide inpatient EP consultation and management of postoperative arrhythmias.
- Evaluate and treat inherited arrhythmia syndromes and arrhythmia-associated cardiomyopathies.
- Participate in outpatient arrhythmia/device clinics and shared EP call.
- Opportunities for teaching and clinical research based on interest.
Qualifications
- Completion of a pediatric/congenital electrophysiology fellowship.
- Preferred 5 years of post-fellowship experience in independent pediatric/congenital invasive EP practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in ablation and device implantation procedures.
- Board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Texas.
