CDL-A OTR Driver – Oversized & Specialized Loads

Silent Highways is hiring motivated CDL-A OTR Drivers to haul oversized and specialized freight across the country. This is a unique opportunity for drivers looking for more than standard freight hauling. We are seeking hardworking professionals who are comfortable being hands-on with freight securement, load preparation, and specialized trailer operations.

Position Overview

Drivers will be responsible for transporting oversized and specialized loads safely and efficiently while assisting with load securement and related duties. This position requires physical work, including moving dunnage and cribbing, loading and unloading equipment, and occasionally assisting with trailer-related maintenance tasks such as swapping pre-mounted spare tires. Company tools are provided.

Mechanical knowledge is a major plus and highly valued in this role.

Some projects may require drivers to remain out on the road for extended periods, including runs lasting up to two months at a time. Drivers receive scheduled home time once assignments are completed.

Pay & Compensation

• Salaried position
• Approximately $80,000 annually
• Paid biweekly
• Additional incentive “kickers” available on top of base salary

Driver Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• OTR driving experience preferred
• Ability to haul oversized and specialized freight
• Must be physically capable of:
  • Moving dunnage and cribbing
  • Assisting with loading/unloading
  • Performing hands-on freight securement tasks
• Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
• Motivated, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
