Travel Surgical Technologist (Days)

• Position is primarily 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday, 7:00a - 3:30 pm. Hours may fluctuate slightly based on surgery case load (as early as 6:00am).

• Contract: 13 weeks
  
• Location: Decorah, IA 52101
  
• Hourly Pay: $ 23.00
  
• Non-taxed Stipend: $1218.00
  
• Weekly Total Pay: $ 1908.00
  
• Weekend: includes on-call rotation, approximately 1 night per every 2 week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend.
  
• Holiday Call: rotation included.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
  
• Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
  
• Preparing the patient for surgery
  
• Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
  
• Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation
  
• Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
  
• Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
  

Compensation:

• Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible)
  
• Pay package details provided upon offer
  

• Must have State of Iowa Mandatory reporter training
  
• Must have at least 1 year of CST experience
  
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required
  
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
  
• Must stay within 30 minutes of facility when on-call
  
• Must have current and valid American Heart Association BLS certification
  
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  
• Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  
• Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
